My story is one of continuous change and adaptation. It is one that I always strive to evolve in exciting, creative ways that challenge me to exit my comfort zone and work alongside talented people and teams.
Originally from Trinidad and Tobago, I pursued my undergraduate degree in International Business at the University of Tampa in Florida, USA. After graduation I returned to my home country to start a challenging career in IT Service Management at Fujitsu Caribbean Ltd. Within my 3 year experience at the company it helped to create the foundation of all my professional experiences, allowing me to learn the intricacies of Service Marketing, Customer Relationship Management, and Operational Logistics from a talented and highly motivated team.
I returned to the U.S. in 2013 to pursue my MBA in Marketing at the University of Miami. By far one of my best career decisions, the experience was the most challenging yet richest I have ever had. Excluding the invaluable education and marketing knowledge, my classmates from all over the world were the greatest case study. Immersed in a rich, diverse cultural clash of opinions, backgrounds, and ethics, I learned more about people there than I did anywhere else in my life and today that experience has enhanced my skills as an employee, manager, and leader. While at the University of Miami I also held a digital marketing internship position at the wines and spirits division of LVMH, Moet Hennessy USA in which I helped manage a 6 month digital marketing campaign in collaboration with a great team at the NY headquarters.
Driven by my need to constantly create, upon graduation from the University of Miami I started a print editorial magazine, Scorpio Jin Magazine, based in Miami, FL. Focusing mainly on beauty and fashion editorial work, I wished to give artists around the world the opportunity to tell their visual stories in an engaging way that inspired others. My love for engaging imagery and creating "brand fantasies" have always motivated me and I remain the Creative Director of the magazine which now has a fan base of 20,000 followers on social media.
After graduation I was also given a life-changing opportunity at clinical dermatologist skincare line Dr. Brandt Skincare. Based in Miami, FL, the brand is sold at major retailers such as Sephora, Ulta, and Macy's. Beginning my tenure as the Social Media Manager in 2015, I coordinated several strong product launches and social campaigns within my first year. In October 2016 I jumped at the opportunity to become a Product Marketing and Content manager where I act as a project manager of 360 activations and content development alongside our Product Development, Creative, and Digital Marketing teams.
